Egg injection is said to help break down facial fat and boost lymph flow, helping the body clear the broken-down fat cells. Along with reducing facial fat to refine the face line, it is also expected to help with skin elasticity and tighter pores.
It is a KOKO Plastic Surgery special treatment that aims for a V-line without major surgery. As a guide, changes start to show about 2 weeks after one session.

What is egg injection?
It is an injection said to help break down facial fat and boost lymph flow, helping the body clear the broken-down fat cells. As facial fat decreases, the face line is refined. It is also expected to help with skin elasticity and tighter pores.
Without surgery, injections alone can reduce facial fat and aim for a cleaner face line. It suits people who want a more refined contour without contouring surgery.

How much you notice the effect varies from person to person.
Areas that can be treated
It can be used on areas of the face that bother you. These include around the head, temples, cheekbones, front cheeks, eyelids and nose tip (bulbous tip). It can also treat the side cheeks and jaw angles, front of the chin, double chin and more.
When the treatment is not suitable
In cases like these, we suggest another method instead of egg injection.
- Egg injection is unlikely to work well and another treatment is needed.
- There are many wrinkles, with little skin and subcutaneous fat.
- Aging has left the skin wrinkled and sagging.
- The bone structure is large and there is little fat.
Skin laxity, firmness and egg injection
If the skin sags, a diamond thread lift is a better fit than contouring injections.
If the skin is firm, results tend to show more readily than with sagging skin.
However, if the bone structure is large and the skin tissue is firm, there is a limit to how slim the face can become. Even combined with contouring surgery, there is a limit to how much smaller it can get.
Before treatment
Please note the following before treatment.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking.
- If you take aspirin-type medicines, stop them 2 weeks before treatment.
- Fair, thin skin bruises more easily, so rest well after treatment.
- Please come to the clinic without makeup.
- Treatment takes about 5 minutes. If you feel anxious, it can be done under sedation (the sedation fee is charged separately).
Aftercare
Please take care of the following after treatment.
- For about a day, use cold packs and avoid pressure on the treated area. Massage can spread the injected solution and reduce its effect.
- When washing your face, stroke gently and avoid pressing.
- Wait 3–4 days before hot saunas or laser treatments.
- You can wear makeup from the day after treatment.
Risks and side effects
Results and recovery vary from person to person. The main risks and side effects are:
- Swelling and bruising after surgery or treatment
- Infection or inflammation
- Asymmetry, or a result that differs from what you pictured
- Scarring (when an incision is made)
- Numbness or changes in sensation (often temporary)

For each area of concern, here is when egg injection can help and when another method is needed.
Eyes and temples

Cheekbones under the eyes that stand out when you smile
This is when the cheekbones under the eyes protrude too much and stand out even more when you smile.
However, if the upper jawbone protrudes and the orbital fat deep under the eye is large, egg injection is not suitable. To avoid a scar on the skin, the fat needs to be removed with a laser from inside the eyelid (the conjunctiva).

Sunken temples, and cheekbones that look large at 45°
The temples have no fat, so if they are sunken we inject hyaluronic acid. On the other hand, if there is fat over the cheekbone below the temple, seen at a 45° angle, egg injection can help slim it.
If the cheekbone itself (the bone) looks large at 45°, we recommend endoscopic cheekbone surgery (quick endoscopic zygoma reduction).
Cheekbone Reduction -
Prominent temples that make the face look larger
If the temples stick out too much and make your face look large, egg injection can help improve this.
If the temporal bone at the temple is extremely large, though, egg injection is not suitable.

Thick upper eyelids
For thick upper eyelids, egg injection aims for a cleaner eye area.
However, if the orbital fat in the upper eyelid is large, egg injection is not suitable. The fat needs to be removed through an incision along the double eyelid line.
Cheeks and face line

Prominent side cheeks below the ears
This area suits KOKO V egg injection. If needed, adding micro-injection liposuction aims for a cleaner look.
However, the parotid glands (salivary glands below the ears) may be enlarged. In that case, you need an ultrasound or CT exam at an ENT clinic.

A lot of fat in the cheeks beside the mouth corners
This area is called buccal fat, and egg injection can help improve it.
If the buccal fat is overdeveloped, though, it is removed through an incision inside the mouth.

Sagging around the mouth (jowls)
This bulge forms at drooping mouth corners, or from the middle of the jawline to where it meets the front of the chin. It is common in people in their 40s and 50s.
The cheek muscles lose elasticity, and the ligaments at the cheekbones and in front of the ears loosen. Facial skin and tissue then drop toward the mouth.
Egg injection can help make it less noticeable. In more severe cases, we add micro-injection liposuction. If loss of skin elasticity is the main cause, combining it with a diamond thread lift is a better fit.
Thread Lift -
A double chin when you look down
You rarely see your own profile, so it is easy to miss. But with age, gravity lowers skin elasticity and a double chin forms more easily.
We recommend egg injection. In more severe cases, micro-injection liposuction is needed.
However, if the neck muscles have drooped along with the skin with age, an incision of about 2 cm is needed to check the muscles.
