KOKO Eye Surgery: Our Approach

Natural, larger-looking eyes that suit your face

Of all your features, your eyes shape the impression you give the most. In eye surgery at KOKO Plastic Surgery, we focus on a natural result that suits your face and the look you want.

Starting with 4D eye enlargement, which opens the eyes in four directions, we analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each person’s eyes. We then choose the right methods and tailor the surgery to you.

Who 4D eye enlargement is for

  • Your eyes look small and heavy
  • Your eyes are short from side to side and narrow from top to bottom

What is 4D eye enlargement?

This surgery opens the eye area in four directions: up, down, inward and outward. It combines epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, eye contour correction and other methods to make the eyes look larger and brighter.

Compared with a single method on its own, it tends to change the look of the whole eye area more. Results vary from person to person.

How 4D eye enlargement is done

Based on the design agreed at your consultation, surgery follows these steps.

  • We design the surgery for your eyes and separate the tissue along the design.
  • Epicanthoplasty cuts the epicanthal fold and widens the inner side of the eye.
  • Lateral canthoplasty and outer-corner lowering widen the outer side of the eye.
  • Eye contour correction opens the eye more from the inner side to the center.
  • The treated areas are closed with stitches.

Aftercare

Swelling and bruising vary from person to person. To help your recovery, please follow these points.

  • Keep the eye area cool from right after surgery until the swelling goes down.
  • Avoid sleeping face down or on your side. Raising your head on 2–3 soft pillows or cushions eases swelling and pain.
  • Avoid crying a lot, rubbing your eyelids hard or squeezing your eyes shut.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking for 3–4 weeks, as they slow wound healing.
  • You can wear contact lenses after 2 weeks. Until then, wear glasses or sunglasses.
  • Light makeup is fine after 2 weeks, and eyelash extensions after about 1 month.
  • Avoid baths and saunas for about 3 weeks.

Risks and side effects

Results and recovery vary from person to person. The main risks and side effects are:

  • Swelling and bruising after surgery or treatment
  • Infection or inflammation
  • Asymmetry, or a result that differs from what you pictured
  • Scarring (when an incision is made)
  • Numbness or changes in sensation (often temporary)

Eye styles

We choose the method for the eyes you want

Two popular eye styles, and the surgery each one needs.

Popular eye styles

  • Cat-eye style

Eyes that look long from side to side, with an alluring feel.

For cat-like eyes, you need epicanthoplasty, which can correct the epicanthal fold.

    Epicanthoplasty & Lateral Canthoplasty
  • Puppy-eye style

A look that stays popular year after year.

You need double eyelid surgery with a well-defined crease, using whichever of the non-incisional or incisional methods suits your eyes.
