Crooked Nose Correction
Straightening a crooked nose in both form and function
A crooked nose affects not only how your face looks, but also how air flows through your nose.
At KOKO Plastic Surgery, we do more than straighten the bend to suit your facial balance. We also diagnose the septal cartilage precisely and plan surgery around both the shape and the function of your nose.

Who it is for
- Your whole nose is crooked, so it does not run straight from the root to the tip
- Your bridge is crooked
- You often have a blocked nose or other nasal problems
- Your bridge became crooked after nose surgery
- The bend in your nose makes any asymmetry in your face more noticeable
What is crooked nose correction?
A crooked nose has a big effect on how your face looks. The septum is bent as well, which restricts airflow and lets the inside of the nose dry out easily.
A dry nose forms crusts easily and makes you more prone to infections, colds and other respiratory illnesses. So surgery for a crooked nose has to consider function as well as appearance.
Most crooked noses result from an injury in which the nasal bone and septum broke and were left untreated for a long time. We recommend getting treatment early.
How the surgery is done
We choose the technique based on how crooked your nose is.
- For a mild bend, we straighten the nose by repositioning the cartilage (cartilage repositioning).
- For a severe bend, we make bone cuts on the inner and outer sides of the nasal bones (medial and lateral osteotomy). We combine these with correction of the septum to straighten the nose.
Results and recovery vary from person to person, depending on your body and other factors.
Risks and side effects
Results and recovery vary from person to person. The main risks and side effects are:
- Swelling and bruising after surgery
- Infection or inflammation
- Asymmetry, or a result that differs from what you pictured
- An implant shifting, showing through or becoming exposed (when an implant is used)
- Pain or a scar where rib cartilage was taken (when rib cartilage is used)
- Contracture (tissue hardens and the nose shrinks)
If anything concerns you, you can still reach us on WhatsApp after you fly home.
