KOKO Plastic Surgery · Fat Transfer & Liposuction
Liposuction
Removing excess fat for a more defined body line
This surgery removes excess body fat using negative-pressure suction, ultrasound or laser, and refines your body line.
Rather than simply reducing fat, we adjust how much to remove from each area. We aim for a slim, shapely line in balance with your whole body.
- Surgery time
- About 1 hour
- Anesthesia
- Sedation
- Hospital stay
- Same-day discharge
- Stitch removal
- After about 7 days
- Recovery

Who it is for
- You have a lot of body fat overall
- You have a lot of fat in specific areas, such as the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, calves or face
- Your skin is uneven and you want to reshape your body
- You want to reshape your body in a short time
What is liposuction?
Liposuction removes excess fat to rebalance your body line.
The body has three lines: underarm to waist, buttocks to thighs, and shoulders to arms. A beautiful body line needs these three in balance.
Liposuction is not just about removing all the fat. What matters is adjusting the amount for each area, for a line that is slim yet shapely.
Results vary with your constitution and skin condition.
Liposuction at KOKO Plastic Surgery
We analyze your body type, age, fat and even your abdominal fascia before deciding on the method. For the abdomen, we choose the approach that suits you from options like these.
- Removing only subcutaneous fat
- Tightening loose abdominal muscles
- Removing fat and reshaping the abdominal muscles together
- Combining liposuction with removal of skin and fat
Aftercare
To help swelling settle quickly and the line become smooth, please follow these points.
- On the day of surgery, take it easy and rest as much as you can.
- For about 2–3 days after surgery, fluid injected during the operation may leak from the incisions. Puffiness and bruising last a few days.
- Start wearing a compression garment the day after surgery or once the bandages come off. Keep wearing it for about 2–3 months so puffiness and the skin can settle.
- The incisions take about 7 days to heal. You can take a light shower from 1 week after surgery. Avoid baths and long sauna sessions.
- Alcohol and smoking slow recovery. Avoid both for at least 3–4 weeks after surgery.
- Once your body has recovered somewhat, light exercise such as jogging is fine. Avoid strenuous exercise for 2–3 weeks.
- During downtime, protect the treated areas from strong impacts.
Risks and side effects
Results and recovery vary from person to person. The main risks and side effects are:
- Swelling and bruising after surgery or treatment
- Infection or inflammation
- Asymmetry, or a result that differs from what you pictured
- Scarring (when an incision is made)
- Numbness or changes in sensation (often temporary)

Liposuction by area
We change the approach for each area
Fat builds up differently, and to different depths, in each area. We suction each one to suit its features.
Abdomen and flanks
-
Abdomen
Abdominal fat wraps from the front to the sides and back, so it is important to suction it evenly in one session. The fat layer is thick and widespread, so a lot can be removed and the change is easy to feel.
Full-layer liposuction, reaching the layers near the skin, suits this area. But with little muscle here, skin elasticity tends to drop after surgery, so we recommend an abdominal lift as aftercare.
-
Love handles (flanks)
Fat here resists exercise and dieting and is hard to hide under clothes, so many people are bothered by it.
It is important to remove the fat while keeping a feminine waistline.
Arms and back
-
Upper arms
Suctioning finely through the shallow layers near the skin, not just the deep ones, helps leave the skin smooth here.
We also treat the part of the back that joins the upper arm, refining the body line while checking the overall balance.
-
Back
We remove fat that sits over the bra line for a clean, firm line.
Back fat is often fibrous and not very plentiful, so experience matters here. Treating it together with the upper arms or love handles tends to give a clearer change.
Legs
-
Thighs
Thighs hold more fat than most areas, and many people have liposuction here. Thigh fat is divided into the outer thigh, back of the thigh, around the knee and inner thigh.
Because the thigh is shaped like a cylinder, we remove fat from each part while balancing front, side and back, for a smooth line.
-
Calves
Unlike the thighs, the fat layer is thin, and most of the calf is muscle and bone. So it needs more careful suction than other areas.
Even with little fat, removing fat that developed along with the muscle can give a cleaner line. We suction evenly around the full 360° of the calf, aiming for a natural line down to the ankle with a straight inner calf.
Face
-
Face
Fat on the face can give a blurred, heavy impression. In most cases, removing overdeveloped fat and letting the skin recover over time refines the face line.
Sometimes age-related sagging has loosened the line from the lower face to the jaw and neck. Depending on the degree, a face lift may then be done at the same time.
