Aftercare
After implant surgery, please keep the following in mind.
- After surgery, a compression bandage is wrapped around your forehead. It keeps blood and fluid from collecting and helps limit swelling.
- You can wash your hair from 1 week after surgery.
Risks and side effects
Results and recovery vary from person to person. The main risks and side effects are:
- Swelling and bruising after surgery or treatment
- Infection or inflammation
- Asymmetry, or a result that differs from what you pictured
- Scarring (when an incision is made)
- Numbness or changes in sensation (often temporary)

Three ways to shape the forehead

Implant insertion
An implant made before surgery to match the shape of your forehead is inserted. Silicone is the most commonly used material.
It makes it easier to get the shape you want in one surgery, but it needs an incision in the scalp.

Micro fat transfer
Your own fat is taken from the abdomen or thighs, purified and injected into the forehead. It is a relatively simple procedure, and because it uses your own tissue, the result tends to look natural.
Some of the grafted fat is absorbed, so it is usually done 2–3 times in total to reach the shape you want.

Hyaluronic acid
This is for people who cannot take downtime, or who feel uneasy about surgery and want a simpler treatment.
Hyaluronic acid is injected where the forehead lacks volume to smooth its contour.
