Dimple Creation Surgery

Natural dimples that look like you were born with them

Dimples are the small hollows that appear in the cheeks when you smile. Dimple creation surgery makes natural-looking dimples, as if you always had them, for a youthful, sweet look.

The skin of the face is not cut. The surgery is done through the mouth in about 10–20 minutes. No hospital stay is needed, and you can return to daily life right away.

What is dimple creation surgery?

Dimples are the small hollows that form in the cheeks when you make an expression or smile. Natural dimples give a bright, charming look.

Dimple creation surgery is a short procedure that can give you a softer, sweeter look.

Where dimples go

As a guide, a dimple sits near where a line straight down from the eye meets a line out from the corner of the mouth.

The look a dimple gives depends on where it forms. We decide the position based on the balance of your whole face and the look you want.

How the surgery is done

The skin of the face is not cut. The surgery is done from inside the mouth.

  • We design where the dimple will go.
  • The mucosa inside the mouth is opened by about 5 mm.
  • A suture ties it to the skin tissue to form the hollow.

Aftercare

Until your dimples settle, please keep the following in mind.

  • Swelling, bruising at the injection sites and mild itching settle on their own.
  • After surgery, avoid scrubbing hard when you wash your face.
  • For a while, do not expose the treated area to extreme cold or heat.
  • For about 1 month, until the dimples are fully formed, avoid laughing with your mouth wide open or yawning. Do not rub or press hard on the treated area.
  • For 1–2 days after surgery, eat soft liquid foods as much as possible. We recommend rinsing your mouth rather than brushing your teeth.

If you feel a snap at the treated area when laughing or yawning and the dimple disappears, it can be stitched again.

Risks and side effects

Results and recovery vary from person to person. The main risks and side effects are:

  • Swelling and bruising after surgery or treatment
  • Infection or inflammation
  • Asymmetry, or a result that differs from what you pictured
  • Scarring (when an incision is made)
  • Numbness or changes in sensation (often temporary)

WHY KOKO

Why patients choose KOKO for Dimple Creation Surgery

  1. 01

    Done from inside the mouth

The surgery is done through the mucosa inside the mouth, so scars are unlikely on the skin of the face. We aim for natural dimples that make it hard for others to tell you had surgery.

  2. 02

    Position changes the look

The look a dimple gives depends on where it forms. We decide the position to match the look you want.

  3. 03

    Balanced with your whole face

We design your dimples around your face shape and their balance with your eyes and nose.

FAQ

Common questions about Dimple Creation Surgery

  • Yes. The look a dimple gives depends on its position. As a guide, we use the point where a line down from the eye meets a line out from the corner of the mouth. We then decide the position based on the balance of your whole face and the look you want.

  • The mucosa inside the mouth is opened by about 5 mm, so the skin of the face is not cut.

  • For 1–2 days after surgery, eat soft liquid foods as much as possible. We recommend rinsing your mouth rather than brushing your teeth.

  • When you laugh or yawn, you may feel a snap at the treated area and the dimple may disappear. If that happens, it can be stitched again. For about 1 month, until the dimples are fully formed, try to avoid opening your mouth wide.

  • Surgery takes about 10–20 minutes under local anesthesia, with no hospital stay. You can return to daily life right after surgery. Whether stitches need to be removed depends on the case, so we plan your schedule together at your consultation.

  • It depends on the dimple position and what the surgery involves. Send three photos of your face — front, side and 45° — on WhatsApp (+82 10-9608-0042), and we will give you an estimate. We can also go over it in an online consultation.
