What is lower eyelid wrinkle correction?

As aging progresses, the pouch (membrane) that holds the fat under the eyes stretches. The fat pushes forward and wrinkles increase. This can make you look older than your age and give a tired impression.

In this surgery, stretched skin is removed through a small incision under the eye. The under-eye fat is also removed, or adjusted and repositioned.

How the surgery is done

An incision is made just below the lashes. The under-eye fat is adjusted, then the skin is lifted and the excess is removed.

Aftercare

Please take care of the following after surgery.

• Using cold packs from right after surgery until the swelling goes down helps recovery.
• Swelling and bruising may appear (this varies by person). When sleeping, avoid lying face down or with your head lowered. Raising your head on 2–3 soft pillows eases swelling and pain.
• Avoid crying a lot, rubbing your eyelids or squeezing your eyes shut.
• Alcohol and smoking slow wound healing. Avoid both for at least 3–4 weeks after surgery.
• Skip contact lenses for about 3 weeks, and wear glasses or sunglasses instead.
• Light eye makeup is fine after 2 weeks, and eyelash extensions after 1 month.
• We recommend avoiding saunas for at least 3 weeks.
