How much can the tip of the nose be raised?👃

“Can the tip of my nose be raised as much as I want?”

This is a question I hear often.

To give you a straight answer

As long as your skin condition allows, I can raise the nasal tip almost as much as you’d like.
In most cases, we adjust it according to the patient’s wishes—even if it requires a bit of effort.

But the important question is how we raise it.

There are two main methods to elevate the nasal tip

1.Using silicone implants
2.Using cartilage (autologous tissue)

There’s a significant difference between the two.

When using silicone implants, the implant extends all the way to the tip of the nose.
This greatly increases the risk of inflammation and infection—
because the foreign material (silicone) ends up right next to the incision site.

The more aggressively we raise the nasal tip,
the greater the risk becomes.
Once we start raising the tip by more than 3–4mm,
we see a noticeable increase in the rate of inflammation.

The choice of material used in nose surgery affects not only aesthetic results,
but also the likelihood of post-surgical complications.
This is especially critical for the nasal tip,
as it is more exposed to external stimuli.
Careful material selection is essential.

I always tell my patients:
“You can raise the tip as much as you want—
but how you raise it, and with what, is far more important.”

In conclusion

I completely understand the desire for a higher nasal tip.
But what’s more important is achieving a safe and natural-looking result.
At KOKO Plastic Surgery Clinic, we focus on using autologous tissue whenever possible
to minimize the risk of infection and maximize patient satisfaction.
