What do you think about rhinoplasty with implants?
Let our rhinoplasty expert, Dr. Cho, explain the ins and outs of nasal implants!
In my view, rhinoplasty with implants is not bad, considering from the patient’s perspective, it offers excellent value for money.
However, it is important to note that less than 10% of patients are suitable for rhinoplasty with implants.
Furthermore, 5 to 10 years after implant surgery, there might be a sudden occurrence of contracture reaction.
That is, it might seem fine immediately after surgery, but side effects could appear several years later.
There are some drawbacks to rhinoplasty with implants, such as the risk of the implant being visible through the skin, the risk of others discovering that one has undergone rhinoplasty, and the fact that as an artificial object, the implant cannot permanently integrate with the human body.
Normally, correctly placed implants (just above the periosteum) are covered with a protective membrane
because the implant does not integrate with the body and is naturally separated.
This layer of protective membrane can hold the implant in place, preventing it from shifting.
Therefore, caution is needed when performing rhinoplasty with implants.
