What is Nose Tip Surgery?
Nose tip surgery is a procedure that reshapes the nose tip to create a beautiful, well-defined appearance. If the tip of your nose is low or round compared to the overall nasal structure, causing an imbalance, this surgery can adjust the nose tip to be higher and more refined, balancing the overall look of the nose.

Nasal Tip/Cartilage Reshaping
There are surgical methods to raise a low nasal tip by transplanting cartilage or Alloderm and another method involves removing a portion of the nasal tip cartilage to reduce the volume of the rounded nasal tip. To raise the nasal tip further, cartilage is transplanted onto a nasal column created with autologous cartilage or artificial bone (Medpor). Even by simply adjusting the nasal tip cartilage, the rounded nasal tip can be made sleeker or slightly elevated if it is drooping. The surgical method is determined based on the individual’s nasal shape and facial balance.
Surgical Procedure
Cartilage resection surgery
Cartilage suturing surgery
Elevating the nasal tip
It is a surgery to raise the nose by transplanting autologous tissue (cartilage) or AlloDerm to a low nasal tip. Additionally, to further elevate the nasal tip, a nasal column is first created using autologous cartilage, onto which cartilage is transplanted.
Surgical Procedure
Augmentation rhinoplasty
Tip rhinoplasty utilizing nasal dorsal augmentation with grafting
Postoperative Care Instructions
- Remove the tape three days after surgery.
- Apply ice packs as needed for the first week after surgery.
- If bruising occurs, use a warm towel to apply heat starting from the first week after surgery. Improved blood circulation helps reduce swelling and bruising quickly.
- When washing your face before suture removal, be careful not to wet the surgical area. Gently wipe around the surgical area with a towel dampened with water.
- Normal facial cleansing and makeup application can resume the day after suture removal.
- Avoid wearing glasses for about four weeks after surgery.
- Avoid applying pressure or impact to the nose area for approximately six weeks until the implant or cartilage stabilizes. (Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach.)
- Refrain from consuming alcohol and tobacco for one month to prevent inflammation.
