Hello!
We are KOKO Plastic Surgery in Korea,
a professional rhinoplasty clinic dedicated to safe surgery with 22 years of experience.
Today, we’re going to discuss the topic of rhinoplasty for the middle-aged group.
Some middle-aged people among our patients ask if they can still undergo rhinoplasty.
We have many patients in our hospital who are 40 to 50 years old, as well as older patients, aged 60 to 70.
These patients mainly seek not the initial surgery, but more inquire about revision rhinoplasty.
Many patients, after having surgery years ago and suffering from side effects for a long time,
eventually muster the courage to come to our clinic.
Despite getting older, some people once thought to just let things take their course,
but in the end, they still care a lot and want to undergo revision rhinoplasty.
We know that the initial surgery has already been a burden for many,
not to mention the additional burdens and concerns of undergoing surgery in old age.
I sincerely hope that those who come to us for surgery in their later years know that they are doing well,
and I fully support and encourage them to undergo the surgery.
In fact, we have many patients aged 50, 60, and 70 who have undergone revision rhinoplasty.
Surgery is certainly feasible, and we try not to use rib cartilage for the surgery as much as possible, but it is also suggested when necessary.
In my personal opinion, (rib cartilage can still be used for those below 60 years of age).
However, open surgery (incisions) is also a concern due to the longer surgery time, so the patient’s physical fitness must be considered.
